Animal Husbandry

Traditionally a typical village in Konkan would practice breeding, farming and care of farm animals such as cattle, goat and sheep. However, with the exodus of villagers to Urban areas livestock raising has seen a dereliction in the region.

Many farmers can benefit from animal husbandry for their livelihood. In addition to supplying milk, meat, eggs, wool, their castings (dung) and hides, animals, mainly bullocks, are the major source of power and play an important role in the rural economy.

It is an attempt at Blooming Earth for revival of the tradition of rearing animals which is an opportunity for better livelihood and improved way of life.
