Project Management

We make a team of people to handle the project. This essentially has a lead Design Engineer, Lead Checker and Detailers etc. Lead Engineer and Checker studies the project specifications, understands and prepares list of queries related to the work allotted. Prepares missing specification if not available or asks client and marks the layout of the project. Prepares document control list and estimates man-hour needed for the work.

This will make them ready to allocate the man-power for the work. The team leader assigns the work to the engineering personnel handling the relevant discipline (such as civil, structural, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation). Generally, multi discipline is involved and the work is sub-divided and sequentially carried out by the engineering groups maintaining interdependence and co-ordination through the team leader.

Reviews are conducted periodically involving the top management. In order to get the most optimum results, various engineering options within the specifications and parameters laid down by client are explored.

Results are checked by the Chief Engineer of the engineering group, which will be carrying out the assignment. Additionally, standard as well as customized software is utilized to check the output. Any conflicts in parameters are settled in consultation with the client.

The project control team analyzes, measures, evaluates and controls project's revenue and cost. Fundamental to our business efficiency, they monitor progress against the schedule, cost and details of contract and client’s expectations. The team implements corrective measures when necessary and manages all types of risk.

Project Managers supervises and co-ordinates the work carried out by multiple departments, such as process engineering, procurement, project control and management. Our project management team interfaces with client, partners, suppliers and subcontractors ensuring schedules, budgets, quality and the security of our people and assets.

  • GDL India is very selective in the projects it bids for. Each project is evaluated and selected on its own merits and no market share or asset utilization target supercedes this rule.
  • Once a project has been awarded, the Project Director has full authority and is the single point of accountability during all phases of the project.
  • Projects are monitored closely by Senior Management through monthly project reviews.
